PRISON MINISTRY

by | Apr 16, 2017

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners… Isaiah 61:1

Have you ever imagined a life without freedom? Often times, we may not understand how much freedom we have until one day, it’s taken from us.

While we can sit and imagine a life without freedom, this is the reality for over one million women that are behind bars in the Unites States as we speak.

  • Nearly 30% of the world’s incarcerated women are in the U.S.
  • Women are the fastest growing segment of the incarcerated population increasing at nearly double the rate of men since 1985
  • Incarceration rates have increased by over 700% in the past four decades
  • 7 out of 10 prisoners in California will be rearrested within three years

Behind these bars are women that are not only physically captive, but women that are spiritually captive as wellHere at In the Name of Love, we believe that broken lives and situations can be redeemed and restored when we are obedient to voice of the Holy Spirit.

There is a great opportunity to get Play With Fire into the hands of prisoners who may feel like they have no hope. This book is a reminder that we serve a God who is redemptive and can take the worst situations and use them for His glory.

But we need YOUR help in making this possible! Here’s how you can help us show these women that there is redemption, no matter the situation.

We have an audacious goal of getting this book into every prisoner who would want it! You can be the gift-giver and help liberate hearts by buying a book for someone who needs the message of hope. By donating $15 per book, you not only give a book, but help fund a prison outreach to get resources and start relationship with women who need true freedom.

We are stronger together than separate. Ministry together is better than doing ministry apart.
