Long days, longer nights, cold water beaches, hot pavements, blue skies with white puffy clouds, Hawaiian tropic sunblock, chilled watermelon, and iced tea are all the reasons why I LOVE summer. The highlight of my year is the summer because the season represents a break. A break from school, from cold, from rush. A break from all the obligatory holidays and expectations of familial responsibility to welcome casual barbecues, swim parties, and long, humid nights.
But one of my favorite summer activities is the In The Name Of Love SUMMER SERIES! I think for months about what we are going to discuss. I pray and beg the sun, moon, and stars for awesome guest bands to join us. I stress over the topics and scriptures and seek God to impart wisdom to a group of people who desperately want to seek Him.
And it’s that time again!

If you’re in the SoCal area and are free on Tuesday nights for six weeks, come and join 500 women in seeking God for direction, inspiration, and hope to live out the life God wants us to. The journey is laborious and the excavation of soul is difficult to face, but the results are life changing… if you’re willing to do the work.
This is open to all women from any church or denomination. Invite friends or come and make new ones! You don’t want to miss the worship because it’s going to be off the hizzie fo’ shizzie! For starters, Carlos Whittaker will be kicking off the series with his Sandals church band, followed by Evan Wickham [hello, amazingness!], Gia Lucid [don’t we all love when she’s here?], Tim Timmons [his acoustic set with rock your world!], Jimmy Robeson [he’s been with me since since the beginning and if I had a folk favorite, it would be JR!], and flow master Prop HipHop [his spoken word will move you or crush you!].
Where else can you bust out the Acts 2 model of worship, word, and fellowship on a Tuesday night in East LA? No where. So join us and be part of a moment of people who want to live in the name of love.
