It’s waaaaay too early to be up, but I’m bursting with excitement. Today in downtown Los Angeles, I get to attend an all day lecture with Seth Godin. At this point you may be saying, Who is the world is Seth Godin?
Seth Godin
Well, well, well, Seth is a business tycoon/philanthropist who is probably one of the most brilliant and generous teachers I know. I’ve read his books, his blog, his tweets and I’m convinced he has more knowledge in his bald head than the Dalai Lama. And Steve Jobs. Combined.
The first time I heard him speak live was at Catalyst in Atlanta this year. Like a kid on Christmas, I bounced in my seat and laughed at everything he said while copiously taking notes.
One of Seth’s biggest cornerstones of his philosophy is the idea of giving back or giving away. In honor of his kindness, I’m doing the same.
TODAY you have the opportunity to win a FREE ticket to Catalyst Oneday in Phoenix, Arizona on November 18, 2010!!! All you need to do is leave a comment explaining why you want to go, a funny story, or the meaning of life, and a winner will be picked by my mother.
If you’ve never been to Catalyst West before, it’s unlike any other leadership conference. It’s an experience. F’real. If you’re not sure it’s something you’d want to attend, check out Oneday. I’m sure you’ll change your mind 🙂
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to tapping my toe and wringing my hands in eager anticipation of meeting GREATNESS. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaah! I’m beyond excited. Pray I don’t drool.

so excited for you..my sis, Julie, (who is an aspiring photographer) has me reading Tribes…so far it's really good…i have checked his blog thru yours and i love his writing…
i would love to go to catalyst or would love for my sister to go…i do not in any way, shape or form consider myself a leader..just a girl with lots of ideas…but as i am readin tribes…i am starting to see that i should be putting those ideas into action..
Wow what an amazing opportunity! Like Christy, it's hard to see myself as a leader but after some reflection I think being a leader is also a form of admission to responsibility. I'm a leader at church, at work, among friends and at home. That's a bundle of people that I should lead in God's ways and abide by His rules. (*sigh* Heavy, heavy responsibility man!) How awesome would it be to learn to be a godly leader who ignites fire, passion, and change and always points to Him instead of to self for answers, guidance, progress and direction? Pretty gosh darn awesome. 🙂 Whoever wins is one lucky ducky!
Bahaha! Bianca you are so funny! Have a blessed day! 🙂
Wow, aren't you just the lucky girl … he's AMAZING! Should be a blessed time! As a mama of five, Girl, I'm finding my leadership skills are put to the test on a daily, uh, hourly basis. God sure has a great sense of humor and finds a way to use the least of these in the greatest ways. (In my case, taking an independent, impatient, self-driven gal and turning her into the leader of 5 wonderful people. NEVER saw that one comin. But, God had other plans). I think at one point or another, we’re all given leadership opportunities in one capacity or another. I know I can use all the guidance I can get. More time on my knees and an opportunity with someone like Seth Godin …hhmmmm….what a lovely thought. Hope you have a wonderful time!
I wish that I could! I have never attended a real Christian fellowship….I'm the only Christian in my family and my neighborhood! I travel over 45 minutes to get to Calvary Chapel Boston. I try to bring the word into my conversations with people around here whenever I can. Sometimes it's hard, but God has a plan and He will carry it through! That, and your blog really helps me connect! Thanks again, B!
Wow! As someone who also commutes 45 mins to get to church, I encourage you and your walk with the Lord. It's gotta be so hard being the only believer, but know that your family in Christ is praying for ya, amb825!
e-Hugs!
It's a day late…but if you haven't given the spot away I'd be so honored to go. I want to be changed, challenged, and shoved around a bit. I want to laugh, cry a little, and be a little uncomfortable. I want to love and know Jesus more.
Hi Sara! Do you live near Phoenix? If so, YOU are the winner of the contest!!! Let me know by 4PM PST 🙂
